Dr. M. Shanmuga Priya is a passionate teacher in the field of Commerce for the past thirteen years with PG experience of 11 years and UG experience 13 years at Nallamuthu Gounder Mahalingam College, Pollachi, Tamil Nadu. Working as a Assistant Professor in Department of commerce With Computer Applications .She obtained Post Graduation, M.Phil. project entitled with Rural Policyholders Awareness on Health Insurance -With Special Reference to Pollachi taluk and Ph.D. in Commerce thesis entitled Policyholders Awareness ,Preference and Satisfaction on Child Insurance Plan from Bharathiar University,  Coimbatore ,Tamil Nadu. 

She holds up a stable record guided 20 PG projects and 3 UG projects .Her area of interest is Accounting, Finance and Marketing programming in C. She has produced one M.Phil. She has published eleven research articles in various National and International Journals and has presented twelve papers in various conference and seminars.
