Assistant Professor

Dr. P. Sathishkumar, M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D., Assistant Professor, PG and Research Department of Botany at Nallamuthu Gounder Mahalingam College (Autonomous), Pollachi, since 2016. Prior to this role, I worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at KSG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore (2014–2016). I have also 2 years of work experience in the field of Plant Taxonomy at the Fischer Herbarium, Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding (IFGTB), Coimbatore. Expertise in Plant Taxonomy, Phytochemistry and field-based botanical studies. With a strong foundation in plant identification and biodiversity conservation, I am dedicated to advancing research and education in plant sciences. My expertise also extends to Applied Tissue culture techniques, Ecological studies, and Biodiversity assessments.

I earned my Ph.D. in Botany from Kongunadu Arts and Science College, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, where my research focused on the Evaluation of the folklore medicinal plant Acacia caesia (L.) Willd. for its ecomorphological and phytochemical traits in the Western Ghats of India.
