The Department of History was started in July 1972. The Department has met with a large number of acheivements when the college was under Madras University, Rank holders were very often produced after the college came under Autonomy, Syllabus was modified and new papers were introduced to facilitate the students to face the competitive examinations successfully.

REACH (Rural Education And Cultural Heritage) on outreach forum for organising Extension Activities which has a motto “Reach the Unreached”
“Earn While Learn” programme – Part time Jobs are being provided under Earn while Learn programme.
To cater the needs of the students Pre – College Hour and Help Hour Concept are implemented: Pledge, Breathing Exercise, Meditation, and SRW Concept to Inculcate Speaking, Reading, and Writing Skill of English, Post College Hour Concept – Peer Team Learning.
