Soft skill Enhancement programme-TINY HABITS TOWARDS SOFT SKILL ENHANCEMENT”.
The Chief Guest, Dr. V. Uma was introduced by Dr. Indumathy Ramasamy and she was invited to deliver the lecture on the topic entitled, “TINY HABITS TOWARDS SOFT SKILL ENHANCEMENT”. Her lecture was primarily based on the book “Tiny Habits” authored by B. J. Fogg. A few important takeaways from her talk are listed below,
• Repeated behavior is called habit; Good behavior leads to good habit.
• Developing good habits is a big challenge universally. Hence, B.J. Fogg has suggested starting a good behavior so tiny that it can be easily cultivated as habit.
• B. J. Fogg has suggested practicing the new behavior for 30 seconds to 1 minute in the initial days and then slowly expand it and grow it in the form of habit.
• This approach can be used for developing and learning any new skills.
• Soft skills such as communication skills, Time management, Leadership qualities can also be cultivated by starting in a small and tiny way.
